Less than a few months after the breathtaking introduction of the BMW Zagato Coupé that’s based on the current generation BMW Z4. BMW and the Italian coach builder Zagato, collaborated again on a sensational roadster that was premiered at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Shaped on a tight 6-week schedule, the Coupe is dripping of elegance and masculinity. A perfect event at a beautiful location in California for introducing the BMW Zagato Roadster.

The Z4 is present in the long hood upfront, forcing the engine position towards the back-end of the car adding to the style and emphasizing the rear drive orientation. A signature BMW feature, well for the most part these days. The sides showcase long sweeping lines continuing to the rear fenders forming wide hips over the wheel arches.

On the other hand, the back-end exhibits smooth excellence, lending it unrivaled craftsmanship, as if the entire rear was sculpted from one piece of sheet metal. A wide, yet lower stance, makes the rear view of the BMW Zagato Roadster more powerful and muscular.

Folding the convertible roof down, can only amplify the driving experience as the exhaust note comes to life. After all, this is clearly a BMW, dressed up in an Italian tuxedo, bringing out the passion to the surface. As with the BMW Zagato Coupe, the Roadster is a one-of car that will not go into production. The final resting place for this astonishing vehicle maybe in a cozy museum somewhere. . . Or could this be a brief teaser for another BMW Z8 introduction?
