BimmerTimes had a chance to visit the 2012 Orange County International Auto Show this past weekend. An event not anywhere close to the scale of the Paris or Detroit Auto Shows. More like an intermediate stepping stone between major new car shows, geared for convenience and increasing sales numbers for auto dealers.
The OC Auto Show showcased new 2013 model year cars, with the occasional concept popping up in the mix. Most major car brands were present including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Cadillac, Honda, Toyota, Chevrolet, Ford, Chrysler, Volvo, VW, Kia, Hyundai, Lincoln, just to name a few. After all, Orange County is one of the nation’s most populous counties with a huge new car buyer power.
The nature of the show is more family oriented, therefore many car makers offered the bread and butter of their product line. BMW showcased their hottest cars like the 328i, 535i, 640i Gran Coupe, X1, X3, X5, X6, X6M, M6, and the mighty 7-Series based Alpina B7 that crowds were lining up to experience first hand. For extensive BMW coverage, we have a totally separate article for BMW at the 2012 Orange County Auto Show.
Some of the other show highlights came from Mercedes-Benz with the CL63 AMG, C63 Coupe, G-Wagon G63 AMG, and the SLS 63 AMG. Audi with the beautiful RS-6, S6, S7, the S8 and A8L. Honda with the introduction of the new Accord Sedan and Coupe. Onto VW with the Golf R three door hatch. Lexus displaying a red LF-A, and the concept Acura/Honda NSX Roadster.
Many great cars were on display, so check out the pictures below for a better look.
